Privacy Policy

MeetTheStreet hosts small, hand-crafted gatherings for New Yorkers. This policy explains what we collect when you join the waitlist, why we collect it, and what we do and do not do with it.

What we collect

Everything we hold comes from the waitlist form you fill in. That is:

  • Your name: so we know who we are talking to.
  • Your email address: the only way we contact you, and the only way we send an invitation.
  • Your optional age range and how long you have lived in New York: used to understand who is interested in attending.
  • Your availability, travel preferences, interests, and what you want from a gathering: used to plan gatherings and identify which ones may work for you.
  • Anything you add in the optional note: used only to understand your response and plan gatherings.

We do not use tracking cookies, we do not run advertising pixels, and we do not build a profile of you from anywhere other than what you have typed into the form.

Why we collect it

To plan gatherings and let you know when one may work for you. A person, not an algorithm, reviews the responses. If a gathering suits you, we email you an invitation and you have 72 hours to claim your seat. That is the whole purpose.

Who sees it

The people who run MeetTheStreet. We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with advertisers. Other guests never see your waitlist response; at an event, they know what you tell them yourself.

We use third-party services to send email and store waitlist signups. They process this data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for anything else.

How long we keep it

For as long as you might plausibly want to come to a gathering. If you ask us to delete your waitlist signup, we delete it as described below.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it outright. Email us and we will do it. You do not need to give a reason, and asking will not be held against you.

Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. You can withdraw your waitlist signup or ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
